Date: Feb 25, 2012 - Saturday Organization: Gujrati Samaj of Dallas Event: Ponk Party and Dallas Got Talent Venue: MacArthur High School Auditorium Dancers: Blue Flame's Platinum and Gold teams
In it's seventh year, Raas Rave Bhangra Blitz is a national dance competition where both raas and bhangra teams come together to compete within their categories.
2011 India Nite, our first two dance classes performed. 5 young girls, and 4 even younger little boys. This year, 2012, Blue Flame represented with 50 dancers from the ages of 5 to 27.
Amongst our four items, we had our Irving class, our Lewisville classes, our Gold Dance Company, and our Platinum Dance Company.
One of the best moments was "flash mobbing" the audience with our platinum and one of our classes at the end of Gold Dance Company's performance.
All of our students and dancers performed exceptionally well, and exceeded even my own expectations! I'm so proud of each and every one of our performers.
India Nite was a really neat experience. I have to commend India Association of North Texas on their ability to organize an event that displayed over 700 performers, 70 items, and so many different dance schools and choreographers. They definitely met their goal of representing India in its many colors through dance.
India Nite volunteers smoothly kept the rotation of performances going in a way that it was organized and on time, and also provided all of the performances with a photo session, pizza and drinks, and trophies for all participants and choreographers. Well done IANT, as usual!
Our heartiest "Well done, and thank you!" to ALL Blue Flame staff/choreographers/performers/parents/supporters, the IANT committe, India Nite volunteers from SMU, McFarlin Auditorium staff, and ALL of the many many passionate and talented other groups who showcased their love for the arts on saturday.
Special thank to Blue Flame staff member Christina Thomas who kept our internal operations running smoothly while managing 7 classes and 50 dancers through rehearsals, registration, costuming, and everything that went along with this event. Also, a shout out to our friends at BOMBAY PHOTOGRAPHY, who covered the entire event that evening!
